Our Student Insurance policy offers you the following options:
It’s up to you whether or not to take out personal liability and/or home contents insurance, and you can also add accident insurance cover to your Student Insurance policy if you’d like.
You can choose the date on which your Student Insurance takes effect.
Once you’ve received the insurance policy, you have 14 days to cancel it if you wish. This is free of charge. All you need to do is return the policy. You can cancel your Student Insurance policy at any time.

Once you’ve graduated, you are no longer eligible for a Student Insurance policy. In this case, please contact us on 0900 - 00 24 (usual call charges apply). We will then convert your Student Insurance policy into a normal insurance policy.

Accident insurance provides the following cover:
• in the event of complete or partial permanent disability: maximum of €35,000
• for retraining costs: maximum of €5,000 per year for five years
• in the event of death: maximum of €2,500 for single-person households and €5,000 for married/cohabiting people
Good to know: cover for accidents only applies to the policyholder, even if you are married or cohabiting.
What’s not covered by the accident insurance
• Accidents resulting from the consumption of alcohol or other narcotics or stimulants.
• Accidents resulting from playing or participating in dangerous sports.

Insurance tax
Insurance tax is the tax levied on insurance policies. You will be charged 21% insurance tax on the premium and costs for Student Insurance. This amount will be included in the calculation of your premium.
Package discount
If you take out more than three insurance policies with ABN AMRO, you’ll qualify for a 5% package discount.
