Frequently asked questions
Do I have a policy excess with regard to damage?
You will only have to pay an excess in the event of:
- Damage from rainfall or overflowing water, such as a leaking water pipe: €220
- Storm damage: €220 for tenant's or owner's fixtures and fittings. For example, if you rent your house or if you have your own flat. You will have an excess in the event of damage to any improvements you have made to your home. These are improvements that you cannot take with you when you move house. This excess only applies to home contents insurance.
Do you have all-risk cover? Then you have an excess of €100 for specific all-risk claims. With the home contents insurance, this deductible also applies to the extra all-risk cover for mobile devices and the personal possessions cover.
You can also opt for a voluntary deductible of €100, €250 or €500. This additional deductible applies per event. You will then receive a discount on your premium, but you will also receive less in the event of a claim.

What is the difference between a home contents insurance and a home insurance?
Suppose you have damage to your home. The damage to your belongings that are not fixed to your house, such as a cupboard, sofa or rug, is insured by the home contents insurance. Damage to a glued-down wooden floor or damage to the walls is covered by the home insurance.
